No fewer than eight million Nigerians are set to benefit from the Renewed Hope Empowerment Scheme, which will be implemented across all political wards in the country.
Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this on Thursday during a Citizens’ Engagement with residents of Enugu State. He said the programme, which will soon be launched, is designed to address poverty at the grassroots by targeting 1,000 beneficiaries in each of the nation’s over 8,000 wards.
“If you multiply 1,000 beneficiaries in each ward, it will amount to eight million Nigerians,” Onanuga explained. “The programme will equip participants with various entrepreneurship skills and opportunities to create wealth for themselves and their families. We are confident it will have far-reaching value chain effects for communities across the country.”
He urged the people of Enugu to continue supporting the Tinubu administration, noting that the President remains committed to empowering Nigerians and improving their quality of life.
The Citizens’ Engagement formed part of a three-day federal government tour of projects in Enugu and Ebonyi states, aimed at interacting directly with citizens and showcasing ongoing initiatives in the South-East region.
