…APC NWC, North Central Stakeholders join Bandwagon

As the opposition continues its campaign to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2027 presidential election, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched an intense pro-Tinubu campaign.
Yesterday, the Progressive Governors Forum at the APC National Summit in Abuja endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election. The endorsement, proposed by Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo and Chairman of the forum, was seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
Governor Uzodimma, speaking on behalf of the forum, emphasized commitment to mobilizing resources and ensuring victory for Tinubu in their respective states.
The governors expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reforms, promising to deliver their states in the upcoming elections.
This endorsement follows similar moves by other APC regional leaders, including the North Central governors who recently passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration, praising his developmental strides and inclusive governance.
Similarly, President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term yesterday.
Akpabio led a delegation of National Assembly leadership to the APC National Summit in Abuja to support Tinubu for the 2027 general elections.
He argued that if the President had not performed well in office within the last two years, lawmakers would have given Tinubu a notice of impeachment. However, Akpabio asserted that lawmakers would not do so. He emphasized that while the President may have faced challenges in 2023, he believes things are turning around and that by 2027, the President’s performance will be positive.
Akpabio then moved a motion as the Senate President to have President Tinubu return as the flag bearer of the APC unopposed and as the next president for a second term in office in 2027.
Abbas supported Akpabio’s motion, stating that he stands on behalf of the entire Senate, 109 senators, 360 members, and all 36 speakers and their members nationwide to second the important motion moved by the Senate President.
Also yesterday, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the sole candidate of the party in the 2027 Presidential election.
At the party’s National Summit held in Abuja, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the Chairman of the party, and members of the committee announced the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dr. Ganduje emphasized that the endorsement of the National Working Committee (NWC) is the most significant endorsement, following earlier endorsements from the Progressive Governors Forum and the leadership of the National Assembly.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor of the Progressive Governors Forum, the leadership of the National Assembly, and all other stakeholders who joined various sectors of the party for their endorsements.
As the Chairman of the party and on behalf of the National Working Committee, Dr. Ganduje affirmed the various endorsements and declared President Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Dr. Ganduje highlighted that the party’s NWC is the only legally recognized platform to field a candidate in any election.
Similarly, stakeholders in the North Central region of the APC yesterday endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in office, citing his transformative leadership and development achievements in the region.
During the APC North Central Stakeholders’ meeting held in Abuja, the stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership. The endorsement was moved by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and supported by Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State.
The stakeholders commended President Tinubu’s transformative leadership and the development initiatives he has brought to the North Central Region and Nigeria as a whole. They particularly praised the establishment of the North Central Development Commission and forest guards.
In his speech, Governor Abdullahi Sule, Chairman of the North Central States Governors Forum, pledged the region’s commitment to unity and consolidating development.
APC National Chairman, Dr. Ganduje, also noted that President Tinubu’s policies are yielding positive results.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including governors, former governors, ministers, lawmakers, and APC national working committee members from the North Central Region.
In another development, leaders from the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the aegis of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum endorsed President Tinubu for a second term to continue what they described as “the good works” he is doing for the country.
The Northern leaders announced that their decision is as a result of President Tinubu’s stellar performance over the past two years. They said the improvement is evident in enhanced security, economic revitalization, implementation of local government autonomy, and restoration of peace and national unity.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, the convener of the Northern Bridge Builders Forum, acknowledged President Tinubu’s commitment to the safety and security of all Nigerians, particularly those in the North who have been affected by the activities of bandits, insurgents, terrorists, and other criminal groups.
However, Ikenya drew the President’s attention to the resurgence of criminal groups, which have been blamed for deadly attacks in recent times. He emphasized that the killings and destruction of properties in most northern states have re-enforced the fear that Boko Haram Terrorists, ISWAP, Lakurawa, and other related criminal groups have regrouped, re-armed, and are now mercilessly unleashing violence on communities in those states.
According to Ikenya, under the Tinubu administration, Nigeria is witnessing significant strides in economic revitalization, the implementation of local government autonomy, and the promotion of peace, unity, tolerance, and national cohesion.
