Ex-President Jonathan denies endorsing Tinubu for 2027 election

A former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has denied social media reports that he has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for tje 2027 presidential election.
Jonathan, in a statement through his S.A, Ikechukwu Eze, said he has never granted a media interview to any journalist on the forthcoming 2027 elections.
He said the fake news was a fabrication by agents of disinformation.
“The attention of the Media Office of His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, 2010-2015) has been drawn to a piece of false information with the above title, currently spreading on a segment of the social media.
“This is fake news fabricated by agents of disinformation.
“At no point did Dr. Jonathan speak to any journalist on the forthcoming 2027 elections,” the statement read.
Recall that, in the last 24 hours, a story has been circulating on social media quoting former President Goodluck Jonathan as saying “no coalition formed to unseat President Bola Tinubu in 2027  will succeed, if he decides to seek another term.”
Jonathan allegedly made the statement in Seoul, South Korea, while receiving the 2025 Sunhak Peace Prize.
He was quoted to have said  that Tinubu would not face any serious challenge in getting re-elected, in reaction to the recent announcement of an opposition coalition to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the next presidential election.
