The Legislative Council of Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State has removed its chairman, Abdullahi Ibrahim Beli and his Deputy, Usman Adamu over allegations of gross misconduct, financial mismanagement and failure to perform their duties.
City Post reports that this was contained in a resolution No: SLGLC 003 and signed by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Wali Adamu and Deputy Leader, Abdullahi Wa.
The Legislative Council had earlier constituted a committee to investigate the allegations of gross misconduct, financial mismanagement and abuse of duties levied against the two principal officers of the council.
The council members said the committee’s report found the chairman and his deputy guilty of the allegations.
The legislators said at a media that the removal of the council Chairman and his deputy was based on the report which indicted the two council officials.
Meanwhile, the council has declared the seats of the chairman and the deputy vacant.
