“There is enough drama in the world to continue with issues with my family. Some people don’t want it to work out. I want to work it out. The most important thing is to reconcile.”
Prince Harry has spoken openly about his desire to repair his strained relationships with his father, King Charles III, and his brother, Prince William, saying he wants to move beyond the past and reconcile with his family.
In a new interview with *GQ*, the Duke of Sussex reflected on the pain of family estrangement, describing it as an issue many people can relate to.
He noted that people often ask him how he intends to resolve the situation, hoping his experience might offer them some guidance in dealing with similar family challenges.
However, he acknowledged that reconciliation takes more than one person’s willingness, pointing out that some people may not want to make things work.
Harry also encouraged people to let go of past hurts, noting that while emotional scars may remain, changing how we relate to those experiences can make a difference.
“For me, there is enough drama in the world, and in people’s lives, to continue with issues with my family,” he said.
Harry’s strained relationship with the royal family became more pronounced after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States with their children. His subsequent public comments about the monarchy further deepened the rift.
Despite the years of tension, Harry’s latest remarks suggest that reconciliation remains something he deeply hopes to achieve.
