“My Children Are Not Being Treated Well” — Laide Bakare Cries Out Over Alleged Maltreatment of Sons

Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has raised concerns over the alleged maltreatment of her sons while they are in the care of their father and his wife.

The actress made the allegation while speaking about her concerns for her children, claiming that she has repeatedly raised the issue with their father but has not received the response she expected.

“This is a sad reality for me. My boys, they are not with me, and I am not happy about that. My kids being with another woman, that is not treating them well,” she said.

Bakare recounted an incident she said occurred recently while she was in Saudi Arabia for Umrah. According to the actress, she overheard a conversation involving her former partner’s wife and one of the children in the household.

She alleged that the woman instructed another child not to beat her sons in a way that would leave visible marks, but instead suggested grabbing them by the neck.

“I have recorded evidence. So many times I have complained this to the baby father, who refuses to act on it because he’s so much in love with his wife and will take my kids away from me as a sort of punishment,” Bakare claimed.

The actress said she had deliberately remained silent about the matter because she did not want to bring her family issues to social media.

She, however, said she had reached a point where she could no longer remain silent and was appealing for her children to be removed from the care of the woman she accused of mistreating them.

“All I’m asking is for my children not to be with this stepmother,” she said.

Bakare also accused the woman of presenting a different personality in public, claiming that her behaviour had caused some people to believe that she was the source of the problem.
