Disturbing videos circulating online have allegedly shown Ghanaian actress and fashion icon Nana Akua Addo and her daughter being subjected to physical abuse by her husband.
In one of the videos, Nana is heard crying out as she allegedly confronts her husband over his treatment of their daughter.
“Kill my child for me. The same way you slap me is the same way you slap your daughter,” she is heard saying.
Another video purportedly shows the man repeatedly slapping the girl, dragging her across the floor and stamping on her.
Online reports accompanying the videos claim that Nana and her children have allegedly experienced physical abuse within the marriage for years but kept the matter away from the public.
The disturbing footage has since prompted calls for women’s rights advocates and other relevant authorities to intervene and ensure the safety of the actress and her children.
Nana has also reportedly been encouraged to report the alleged abuse to the police. However, reports circulating online claim that she has not done so and is allegedly unwilling to have her husband face legal action.
The reasons for the reported reluctance remain unclear.
The authenticity and full context of the videos, as well as the allegations surrounding them, have not been independently verified. The husband’s response to the allegations was also not available at the time of publication.
