Apostle Arome Osayi has said Nigeria’s purpose as a nation extends beyond its economic and political challenges, arguing that the country has a spiritual calling to spark revival and spread the gospel to other nations.
Speaking during a sermon, Osayi said Nigerians should not measure the country’s purpose solely by comparing its achievements with those of nations such as China, particularly in manufacturing and industrial development.
“Our calling as a nation is revival. God wants to generate something from here that He will export to the nations of the world. This is His covenant with this nation,” he said.
The cleric said Nigeria’s Christian history includes leaders who, according to him, interceded and sought God concerning the nation’s purpose. He claimed that these spiritual leaders received a revelation that Nigeria would provide missionary manpower to help spread the gospel around the world.
“We are a key player, we are a stakeholder in end time matters,” Osayi said.
He further attributed some of Nigeria’s difficulties to what he described as spiritual opposition, arguing that many Nigerians remain focused on economic and political concerns while overlooking what he considers the country’s larger spiritual assignment.
“We are not seeing beyond the Naira, we are not seeing beyond Aso Rock,” he said, urging Nigerians to pay attention to what he described as the significance of the present times.
Osayi also addressed ministers during the sermon, suggesting that their current responsibilities could be preparing them for greater assignments in the future.
“He is using the ground to mature you so that He can send you to the place where you will manifest the strength of your sceptre,” he said.
He concluded with a call for determination among his audience, urging them to remain committed to what he described as Nigeria’s spiritual assignment.
“We will not retreat! We will not surrender!” he declared.
