Super Falcons’ poor run at the just concluded Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in Morocco was further underlined after CAF did not pick anyone of the team’s players in their Tournament Best XI.
At the 2024 WAFCON, which they won, skipper Rasheedat Ajibade was named MVP and Esther Okoronkwo was named Player of the final, while goalkeeper Chaimaka Nnadozie and defender Osinachi Ohale also made the Tournament Best XI.
New champions Cameroon, Malawi and Algeria dominated the Best XI of the 2026 WAFCON.
