Veteran Nollywood actor and musician Harry B Anyanwu has appealed to members of the Nigerian film industry and the public to support actress Maureen Okpoko, who has reportedly been living with sight loss for several years.
In a video filmed in Enugu and widely shared online, Harry B called on his colleagues and well-wishers to come to the actress’ aid and help her access the medical treatment she needs.
“Nollywood, please, let’s reach out and support her. She’s blind, but she can restore her sight; all she needs is support,” he said.
The actor’s appeal has drawn renewed attention to Okpoko’s situation, with calls for members of the entertainment industry and compassionate Nigerians to support her treatment and help her regain her sight.
Harry B’s plea also highlights the importance of support for entertainers facing serious health challenges, particularly those who may struggle to meet the financial demands of long-term medical care.
