Fashion designer Veekee James has sparked reactions online after responding to a troll who questioned why her husband, Femi Atere, appears to follow her everywhere.
The comment surfaced after the couple attended Peller and Jarvis’ wedding, with the social media user seemingly taking issue with the pair constantly being seen together.
Veekee, however, had no intention of apologising for her husband’s presence.
Responding to the troll, the fashion designer declared that she and her husband do not live separate lives in the way the commenter appeared to suggest, insisting that their marriage is built around complete togetherness.
“Yes. My husband does not have a life of his own. His life is my life. The same way I don’t have a life of my own. My life is his life; he is me,” she wrote.
Veekee went on to tell the troll that marriage, in her view, means sharing one’s life with a partner rather than deliberately keeping each other apart.
“When you marry your own, remove him from your life and keep him somewhere else, but you see this: my own, he is me, and I am him,” she added.
The designer further insisted that her husband’s presence at her events and public appearances is not something she intends to change.
“You’ve not even seen anything. You will see me and my husband anywhere possible,” she declared.
Her response has since generated conversation online, with some social media users praising the designer for openly celebrating her marriage, while others debated whether couples should maintain more individual space even within marriage.
