“PFIPC Boss Didn’t Act Alone” — VeryDarkMan Calls for Wider Probe After Adeniyi Adeyemi’s Arrest

Social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has called for a broader investigation into the alleged activities surrounding the self-styled Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Matthew Adeyemi, insisting that the suspect should not be the only person held accountable.

In a post accompanied by what he described as a recorded video call with Adeyemi, VDM claimed the embattled PFIPC boss shared information with him about how the organisation allegedly found its way into the national budget.

According to VDM, “The PFIPC DG that was arrested revealed a lot of things to me in confidence, and I think it is time for me to post those things. He told me how PFIPC got into the national budget with the help of some people in power.”

The activist alleged that Adeyemi was not solely responsible for the alleged scheme, describing him as “a victim of a corrupt system” that may have existed for years.

“I am revealing everything now because it looks like they want him alone to take the fall, which doesn’t make sense. Prince Adeniyi Matthew didn’t act alone, and I also want to say he is just a victim of a corrupt system that might have been going on for decades.”

VDM went on to call for the investigation of senior government officials and departments he believes may have relevant information.

He specifically demanded a thorough investigation into the Budget Office, called for the resignation of its Director-General, and urged investigators to scrutinise the budgeting process.

He also called for the resignation and prosecution of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, as well as investigations into officials and staff allegedly connected to the matter.

Addressing the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, VDM referenced reports that the official had instituted legal action against Adeyemi over the alleged unauthorised use of his name.

He urged the Chief of Staff to support efforts aimed at uncovering everyone allegedly involved rather than allowing the matter to end with the arrest of one individual.

“The system is very rotten, and if we really want this country to grow, we must demand real accountability, not politically influenced accountability,” he said.

As of the time of this report, the allegations made by VeryDarkMan have not been independently verified, and the officials mentioned have not publicly responded to his claims. No evidence has yet been presented in court linking the individuals or institutions named by the activist to any criminal wrongdoing.
