Victor Osimhen is now set to be named the new captain of Turkish champions Galatasaray following the departure of Mauro Icardi.
Galatasaray announced the departure of Icardi after they could not agree a new contract with the star striker.
The goals of the Argentina striker were instrumental in Galatasaray winning the Super Lig in the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 seasons.
Osimhen, who is already the deputy captain of the Super Eagles, has been pivotal in Galatasaray winning the Turkish championship in the last two seasons.
