The trial of social media influencer and relationship therapist, Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has been adjourned until Monday, July 20, 2026, after she was absent from court due to ill health.

The case, before Justice D.I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, was postponed on Wednesday following an application by her counsel.

Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence and the alleged theft of ₦36 million.

When the matter was called, her lawyer, P.I. Nwafuru, informed the court that officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service had notified him that his client was unwell and could not attend the proceedings.

Counsel subsequently requested an adjournment, assuring the court that a medical report would be presented at the next hearing.

Following the application, Justice D.I. Dipeolu adjourned the case until July 20, 2026, for the continuation of trial.

According to one of the charges, the EFCC alleges that between July 14 and 17, 2024, Blessing CEO obtained ₦36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the alleged false pretence of leasing a six-bedroom detached duplex located on Tunbosun Osobu Street, Lekki, Lagos, knowing that the representation was false.

The anti-graft agency maintains that the alleged act contravenes the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

Blessing CEO has not been convicted of the charges, and the case remains before the court for determination.
