Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has revealed that she destroyed the outfit she wore to the burial of late actor Alexx Ekubo, citing advice she received from her godmother.

In a post shared on social media, the actress disclosed that she set the outfit on fire after returning from the burial ceremony.

According to Angela, her decision was influenced by a belief shared by her godmother, who advised that clothing worn to burial ceremonies should not be kept.

“This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My Godmother said it is not good to have the cloth you wore to a burial around you. You destroy them,” she wrote.

The actress urged her family and friends to take note of the practice, while also offering prayers for long life and good health.

“May the Lord keep and bless us with long life, amen,” she added.

Her post has since sparked reactions online, with social media users sharing differing views on the tradition. While some agreed with the practice based on cultural and spiritual beliefs, others questioned its necessity.

The comments come days after family, friends, and colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Alexx Ekubo, whose passing has continued to draw tributes from across the entertainment industry.
