Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has sparked online conversations after revealing that he would have no problem becoming a househusband if his wife earned significantly more money than he does.
Speaking during a recent episode of the Tea With Tay Podcast, the actor joked that he would gladly stay home if his wife were making millions annually.
“I pray, God, please let my wife just hit one million, $10 million per annum. If you see me act… I’ll be a househusband,” he said.
Deyemi further explained that many men struggle with relationships where women are the primary providers because of insecurity and societal expectations. According to him, his biggest concern is being valuable to his family regardless of traditional gender roles.
The actor also shared his views on gender equality, stating that men and women possess different strengths. His comments have since triggered mixed reactions online, with many debating marriage dynamics, masculinity and modern relationships.
