Grief is often said to find closure in farewell. For Mohbad, however, peace in death still seems painfully out of reach.

On Tuesday, 24 February 2026, Owodunni Ibrahim Oluwatosin, also known as Primeboy joined other supporters on the streets with a message that carried both urgency and sorrow: Mohbad deserves a proper burial.

Over two years after the sudden death of the 27 year old hitmaker, his body remains in the mortuary, leaving fans and loved ones suspended in prolonged grief.
Primeboy described the protest as more than an act of public advocacy.

He revisited his own experience of being detained in connection with Mohbad’s death, noting that despite the personal and public toll, there has been little visible progress towards closure.

He also questioned the accountability of funds contributed by members of the public during the period of mourning. Those donations, given in good faith and emotional solidarity, were intended to honour Mohbad’s memory. Concerns now linger over how those resources have been managed, while his burial remains pending.

Life appears to have gradually resumed for many within his immediate and extended circles. Fans and supporters, however, continue to carry a sense of unfinished farewell. The absence of a final resting place has left a void that time alone cannot resolve.

Every life, no matter how brief, deserves dignity in both memory and rest.
