For Neo Akpofure, former housemate of Big Brother Naija, this week arrived with the kind of storm no amount of reality TV training prepares anyone for. On Tuesday, February 17, a social media user, later identified as Arikan Udoka, took to X—the modern-day courtroom where verdicts are often delivered before trials even begin—to accuse the reality star of rape.

In her account, she claimed their story began years ago at the University of Calabar, where what she described as a casual arrangement between two young adults allegedly turned into something far darker. According to her, an agreement to remain emotionally unattached was broken, and a confrontation at his residence ended in an experience she now describes as assault.

On February 18, through his legal representatives, E.L. Akpofure, SAN & Co., he responded with the precision of ink on paper rather than emotion on social media. The letter dismissed the claims as defamatory, signalling his intention to seek justice through the courts, not the comment section.
