All roads lead to Kigali, Rwanda, as Nigeria’s senior men’s handball team, the Golden Arrows, prepare for the 2026 Africa Handball Nations Championship.
The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) confirmed the development in a statement issued yesterday by its Media Coordinator, Cosmos Chukwuemeka.
Chukwuemeka said the team departed Nigeria early yesterday via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
“The championship will hold from Jan. 21 to Jan. 31,” he said.
The delegation is led by HFN President Jibril Saidu Ojih, FNSQ, alongside other federation officials.
They are expected to arrive by noon, with Coach Rafiu Salami’s side facing Algeria on Wednesday (today) at 1 p.m.
The biennial tournament is dominated by North African teams, with Egypt defending nine titles and Tunisia holding a record ten.
