President Bola Tinubu will on Wednesday inaugurate the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council for the 2027 election, formally activating the party’s campaign machinery as it prepares for the January 16 presidential poll.

The inauguration, scheduled for the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, will bring together members of the PCC and its various directorates and committees, including an expanded Media and Strategic Communications operation featuring several prominent political communicators.

Among those enlisted in the wider campaign structure are Minister for Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, former presidential spokesman and ex-Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ima Niboro, and Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, among several others.

APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka announced the inauguration in a statement on Monday, saying the event would mark “a major step forward” in the ruling party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election.

“The All Progressives Congress will inaugurate the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja,” Morka said.

He added that the full list of members of the various directorates expected at the inauguration has been released by the party.

The Media and Strategic Communications Committee is expected to play a central role in shaping and coordinating the President’s re-election message.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris Malagi, serves as Coordinating Director I of Media and Strategic Communications, while Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, is Coordinating Director II.

The media operation is structured into six subcommittees handling different aspects of campaign communications, including spokespersons, traditional media, new media, and other strategic communication functions.

Morka chairs the Subcommittee of Spokespersons, which includes Niboro, Olayinka, Daniel Bwala, Obafemi George, Ayo Oyalowo, Alwan Hassan, and Adamu Fanda as campaign spokespersons.

The arrangement brings together government communicators, party officials, and experienced media professionals who will be expected to articulate the APC’s campaign positions, respond to opposition parties, and explain the Tinubu administration’s record as the President seeks a second term.

The inauguration comes nearly two months after the broad national leadership of the campaign council was unveiled.

Tinubu chairs the PCC, with Vice President Kashim Shettima among its top leaders, while former Zamfara State governor and serving senator, Abdulaziz Yari, is Director-General.

The council has several directorates covering critical aspects of the campaign, including election planning and mobilisation, policy and manifesto development, legal affairs, media and strategic communications, security and intelligence, data management and grassroots mobilisation.

Wednesday’s inauguration is expected to move the campaign structure from its preparatory phase into full operation, with directorates and committees taking up their respective assignments ahead of the commencement of intensive nationwide political activities.

Morka said members of the various directorates have been formally notified through the just-released expanded membership list.

The APC is expected to anchor its re-election campaign substantially on the Tinubu administration’s record in office, with economic reforms, infrastructure, security, social intervention programmes and what the government describes as Nigeria’s transition “from reform to prosperity” forming key elements of its message.
