MacIntyre Calls for Opens at Carnoustie And Muirfield

Scotland’s number one golfer, Robert MacIntyre, has called for Carnoustie and Muirfield to become regular venues again for the Open Championship.
Carnoustie last hosted the tournament in 2018, when Italy’s Francesco Molinari lifted the Claret Jug, while Muirfield’s most recent staging was in 2013.
Next year’s Open will be held at St Andrews and MacIntyre says more regular visits to Scotland would be a major boost for the game in the country.
“That would be brilliant,” he said. “I feel like there’s not enough Open Championships in Scotland anymore.
“Carnoustie, Muirfield – I’d love to see them all in it, proper championship test.”
