Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia celebrated his 51st birthday with an album listening party and dinner in Lagos, bringing together his children, mother, friends and prominent figures in the entertainment industry.
The event which held on the 19th of September, 2026, also featured a preview of his forthcoming album, Oldest Young Man, and the launch of his food business, 2Baba Jollof.
2Baba’s children and his mother, Rose Idibia, attended the event, with his children joining him on stage to cut his birthday cake.
His partner, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, was reportedly absent, attracting public attention amid ongoing speculation about their relationship. His former wife, actress Annie Macaulay, as well as Sunmbo Adeoye and Pero Adeniyi, the mothers of his other children, were also not reported to have attended.
The event attracted celebrities and industry friends, including Kenny Ogungbe, Dayo “D1” Adeneye, Faze, Wande Coal, African China, Spyro, Tony Tetuila, Ayo Makun, Julius Agwu, wife and children of the Late Sound Sultan and Jide Awobona.
A nostalgic moment came when 2Baba and Faze performed a freestyle recalling their time as members of Plantashun Boiz.
The singer also released Mental, a collaboration with Fave, to mark his birthday.
The absence of Natasha Osawaru became one of the talking points surrounding the celebration, particularly given the public interest in their relationship. Meanwhile, the absence of former Plantashun Boiz member Blackface also attracted attention because of their long running disputes over song ownership, royalties and credits.
Despite the speculation surrounding the guest list, the gathering highlighted 2Baba’s musical legacy, family and new creative ventures as he celebrated another milestone in his career.
