Real Madrid lost the Madrid Derby to Atletico 2-1, they are now fourth on the table and six points behind leaders Barcelona with coach Jose Mourinho blaming the referee for this.
Mourinho was irritated at the post-match press conference.
“We can skip the press conference because this is the story of this match,” he said, showing a printed photo showing both situations.
“There are two clear sending-offs.”
The situations were when Atletico defender Cristian Romero tackled Jude Bellingham and when Lee Kang-In tackled Real Madrid player Federico Valverde.
The Real Madrid coach said the derby was too big for referee Ortiz Arias to handle.
“The referee had no experience of refereeing a derby. He is 41 years old. He is a bad referee who has only done minor matches,” he maintained.
Real Madrid later issued a press statement in the same mode.
“Real Madrid lost at Metropolitano in a derby marked by a poor refereeing performance by Ortiz Arias,” the club said.
“Both decisions affected the outcome of the match, which was decided in the second half in favour of Atlético Madrid.”
