Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy has surpassed four billion total views on YouTube, becoming the first Nigerian and Sub Saharan African artist to reach the milestone.
The achievement adds another record to Burna Boy’s growing list of historic feats and highlights the continued global reach of his music.
The milestone represents the combined views generated by videos on his official YouTube channel, including music videos and other content from his extensive catalogue.
Some of his biggest hits have contributed significantly to the figure, with songs such as “On The Low”, “Ye”, “Last Last” and “For My Hand” each recording hundreds of millions of views on the platform.
This is not the singer’s first major YouTube milestone. In September 2021, Burna Boy became the first Nigerian artist to surpass one billion total views on the platform, ahead of other highly viewed Nigerian acts including Davido and Wizkid.
His YouTube numbers have continued to grow alongside his international success, particularly following the release of critically acclaimed projects such as *African Giant* and *Twice As Tall*.
Beyond streaming platforms, Burna Boy has also established himself as one of Africa’s biggest global music exports. In 2022, he became the first Nigerian artist to headline Madison Square Garden in New York, further demonstrating the international demand for his music.
The four billion YouTube milestone therefore adds to a career filled with landmark achievements, while also reflecting the expanding global audience for Afrobeats.
