Afrinvest (West Africa) Limited on Wednesday said it will inaugurate Islamic investment products in Kano to promote Shariah-compliant investment opportunities in the state.
Kabir Ibrahim, Head of the company’s Kano Office, made the disclosure on the sideline of an investment awareness roadshow organised by the company in Kano.
He said Islamic investments and estate planning would be offered through the Afrinvest Halal Fund.
Ibrahim said the initiative was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to providing ethical wealth solutions.
“The initiative is aimed at creating awareness on ethical investment opportunities and enabling residents to participate in the capital market without compromising their values.
“The roadshow is designed to sensitise residents on various investment instruments and how they can generate returns from their investments.
“Afrinvest has been in existence for 30 years, and we have been operating in Kano for the past two years,” he revealed.
According to Ibrahim, Afrinvest is a capital market holding company with operations spanning various areas of the financial market.
He said the company had about seven subsidiaries, including Afrinvest Asset Management, Afrinvest Securities, Afrinvest Trustees, and Afrinvest Consulting.
“We also have a subsidiary that assists companies to raise capital, while its microfinance arm is being developed,” Ibrahim said.
He urged members of the public to explore investment opportunities suitable for their financial needs and to seek professional advice before making investment decisions.
Ibrahim said investors interested in Shariah-compliant options could access the company’s Islamic products, including the Halal Fund and Estate Planning Services.
“We want people to know that they can invest through Shariah-compliant methods, including estate planning and the Halal Fund,” he said.
