Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, days after his death.
During the visit, Musawa conveyed the condolences of President Bola Tinubu, the Federal Government and the Nigerian people to the bereaved family.
The minister described Ogogo’s death as a significant loss to his family, colleagues, fans and the wider Nigerian creative industry, while honouring his decades of contribution to Nollywood and Nigerian arts.
She noted that the late actor’s work and dedication to the creative industry would remain an important part of Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
“On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, I extend my deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues,” she said.
Ogogo, who was a prominent figure in Yoruba-language cinema, died after battling cancer, leaving behind a career spanning several decades and a lasting impact on Nigeria’s film industry.
