A political associate of NDC’s 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, identified as MamaPee, has sparked controversy after declaring that Obi would defeat any politician in Nigeria if the country held a free and fair election.
Speaking about the political climate ahead of the 2027 general election, MamaPee expressed confidence in Obi’s popularity and electoral strength, insisting that no politician could defeat him under what she described as genuinely free and fair conditions.
“In a free and fair election, Peter Obi will win any politician right now in Nigeria that contests against him in a free and fair election,” she said.
Taking her claim further, MamaPee made a provocative comparison involving Jesus Christ, suggesting that even the biblical figure would lose to Obi if he entered the Nigerian political arena.
“If Jesus comes to contest in this Nigeria politics, Obi will win. What are you people saying?” she added.
Her comments have generated attention amid growing political discussions surrounding the 2027 presidential election and the strength of Obi’s support base.
MamaPee also responded to criticism that Obi has been playing a defensive role in Nigerian politics, questioning what alternative approach he could adopt while facing what she described as the overwhelming influence of the government.
“Like, and it’s coming from people that have a voice, makes me wonder. Eh, Obi is playing defense. What should he play? Someone that the whole weight of government is against,” she said.
