The SANA Group Limited says the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, main venue for the 2026 National Sports Festival (NSF) will be ready before the event kicks off on Nov. 11.
The site manager of the company, Mr Yaser Alshamah, said this while addressing newsmen on the progress of work at the stadium on Wednesday in Enugu.
According to him, the company will complete its roofing work on time, adding that they were committed to delivering on schedule.
“We have three months to complete the roofing of the stadium. We have no choice. Our scope is to roof some sections of the Stadium.
“We have a work programme and schedule; by the grace of God and with the support of everyone, we will complete the aluminium sheet roofing on time, ” he said.
Speaking on the stadium’s design, he stressed the need for a circular structure.
“It is necessary for the stadium to be round. If it is not round, something is wrong. The front has to be round, “he said.
Also speaking, the Site Agent, Mr Emezie Ikeanyionwu, said the company was currently laying the foundation columns that would support the canopy for the umbrella roofing of the stadium.
“We are working according to the timeframe and schedule.
“These are the reinforced foundation layouts that will carry the canopy of the stadium,” he said.
The festival tagged “Coal City Games 2026, has been scheduled to start from Nov. 11 to Dec. 10.
