Nigeria Trounces Cameroon to Reach 2026 CAVB U-18 African Volleyball Championship Final

Nigeria’s dominant position in African youth basketball was on display on Tuesday when the country’s U-18 boys’ volleyball team demolished cameroon 3-0 in the semi-finals to advance to the final of the 2026 CAVB U-18 African Volleyball Championship in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Nigerian youngsters delivered another dominant performance, defeating the Central Africans 25-16, 25-20, 25-19 to maintain their unbeaten record and reinforce their status as one of the tournament’s standout teams.
The straight-sets triumph marked Nigeria’s fifth consecutive victory at the championship and ensured they reached the title match after dropping just one set throughout the competition.
Nigeria began their impressive campaign by topping Group A with three successive wins.
They opened with a convincing 3-0 victory over Morocco before edging hosts Egypt 3-1 in a closely contested encounter. The team completed the group stage with another emphatic 3-0 win over Burundi.
Their fine form continued in the knockout phase as they swept aside Libya 3-0 in the quarter-finals before producing another polished display to eliminate Cameroon in the last four.
