Court Orders Remand of Two Over Alleged Burglary, Stealing

An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, ordered the remand at the Correctional Centre, of two defendants charged with burglary.
The defendants are: Alade Segun, 30; and Olorunfemi Adeniyi, 31.
The charges against the duo bordered on conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
Their pleas were however, not taken.
In a form K application brought by the prosecutor, ASP Yomi Osuolale, he alleged that the defendants committed the offence on July 14, at about 02:00 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants conspired to break into the house of one Omolola Fajuyi in a bid to commit felony.
Osuolale also alleged that the defendants stole the sum of N184, 000 belonging to the complainant, adding that they were subsequently arrested by the police.
The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 302, 322(c) and 421 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor then urged the court to remand the defendants at the correctional centre, pending advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Bamidele, consequently, ordered the remand of the defendants at the correctional centre, pending legal advice.
She adjourned the case till Aug. 26, for mention.
