Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has reacted to a viral narrative claiming that skit maker Kamo State replaced him in actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele’s inner circle.
Speaking during a recent interview aired on Yanga 89.9 FM and shared on YouTube on Monday, July 20, 2026, Makinde said he was surprised by the narrative because it did not reflect what he knew to be true.
According to the actor, he was actually the one who introduced Kamo State to Funke Akindele.
“Na through me Kamo take know Madam Funke,” he said.
Makinde also praised Kamo State while recounting how the skit maker initially reached out to him through social media.
The actor’s comments have now sparked fresh conversations online, with fans debating the nature of the relationship between the two entertainers and whether there was ever any rivalry or replacement within Funke Akindele’s circle.
