Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, popularly known as Vector Tha Viper, has opened up about how he met his wife, Yinka Coker, challenging the long-held belief that meaningful relationships cannot begin in nightclubs.

Speaking on an episode of the MENtality podcast co-hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Banky W, the rapper revealed that he met his wife at a club, describing her as one of the most homely people he knows despite the circumstances of their first meeting.

“I met my woman in the club. You will not believe she is super homely. Who would have thought?”

Vector recalled that what first caught his attention was seeing her rap the lyrics of American hip-hop legend Heavy D.

“What was the first attraction? She was rapping Heavy D.”

Using his personal experience, the rapper advised against making life-changing decisions based solely on popular opinions or stereotypes.

“You can’t take advice when it comes to a life partner. The typical advice that I heard before then was that there were no good women in the club.”

While acknowledging the value of wise counsel, Vector stressed that individuals must ultimately decide what works for them.

“I am not saying you shouldn’t take any advice. You can have a few people who give you good counsel, then on your own, you can decide what works for you.”

Vector and Yinka Coker tied the knot in a civil ceremony in December 2022 and are parents to a daughter.
