Content creator Caramel Plug has publicly called out Nollywood actress Anita Joseph, accusing her of using artificial intelligence to replace Caramel’s face with her own in a viral photo.
The controversy began after an AI-generated image of Anita Joseph circulated widely on social media. According to Caramel Plug, the image was allegedly created by editing one of her original photos and replacing her face with Anita’s using AI technology.
Responding to the criticism, Anita Joseph explained that the image was created by an AI artist who was simply showcasing his editing skills. She maintained that the photo was posted to promote the creator’s work and denied any intention to mislead the public.
However, Caramel Plug was not convinced by the explanation, insisting that her original image had been used without her consent and questioning the ethics of altering another person’s photograph with artificial intelligence.
The exchange has since sparked debate online, with social media users divided over whether the AI-generated edit was harmless creative expression or an inappropriate use of another person’s image.
