The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday adjourned indefinitely (sine die) the suit filed by the faction of the Peoples Democratic Party led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, seeking an order compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise its Interim National Working Committee.

The suit, instituted by the party’s faction through its Board of Trustees, had asked the court to direct INEC to accord recognition to the Turaki-led leadership in line with what it says are the judgments of the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

At Tuesday’s proceedings, the court adjourned the matter sine die, indicating that rulings on the pending applications for joinder, preliminary objections, and the substantive judgment will all be delivered on the same date.

The court said the new date would be communicated to counsel for all parties within 24 hours of its determination.
