UBA Dishes Out N400m Anniversary Bonuses to Loyal Savers in Bumper Account Windfall

United Bank for Africa Plc has paid out over N400 million in anniversary bonuses to thousands of customers under its UBA Bumper Account, marking one of the largest loyalty rewards since the product launched.

The payouts were credited directly to qualifying accounts, underscoring UBA’s push to reward consistent savers and strengthen a savings culture across its customer base.

“This milestone shows that when our customers grow, we grow with them,” said Tomiwa Sotiloye, UBA’s Head of Retail Products. “Every bonus is our way of saying thank you to customers who trust us with their financial goals. Surpassing N400m proves we’re building products that help you save and reward you tangibly.”

Sotiloye noted that new and existing customers can open a Bumper Account at any UBA branch, on the UBA Mobile Banking App, by dialling *919#, or online. Eligible accounts receive a cash bonus each year on their anniversary, turning disciplined saving into direct rewards.

Alero Ladipo, UBA’s Group Head of Brands, Marketing and Corporate Communications, said the account embodies the bank’s customer-first approach.

“The UBA Bumper Account is designed to reward responsible financial behaviour with real value,” Ladipo stated. “Crediting over N400m straight into customer accounts is proof of our promise to make banking more rewarding and to appreciate the confidence customers place in us.”

The Bumper Account is one of UBA’s flagship retail savings products, combining competitive savings benefits, digital access, and loyalty rewards. It supports UBA’s broader goal of deepening financial inclusion by encouraging sustainable saving habits and delivering stronger customer experiences.
