Media personality and comedian Mr Jollof has joined the conversation surrounding the First Lady’s recent comments on akara and kuli kuli businesses, offering a perspective that has resonated with many Nigerians online.
Reacting to the debate, Mr Jollof argued that the value of a business should never be measured by its size at inception, but by the vision, discipline, and consistency behind it.
According to him, some of the world’s biggest brands and most successful entrepreneurs started with modest ideas before growing into thriving enterprises.
“My personal opinion on the First Lady’s remarks about the akara and kuli kuli business is that you can start small and grow into something great. Every successful business begins somewhere,” he wrote.
The comedian further emphasized that there is honour in earning a legitimate living, regardless of the nature of the work, noting that resilience and dedication remain the true ingredients for long term success.
“There is dignity in labour, and no honest job is beneath anyone. What matters most is consistency, hard work, and the determination to build something,” he added.
His remarks have added a different dimension to the ongoing conversation, shifting the focus from the type of business to the mindset required to build one. While opinions remain divided over the First Lady’s comments, Mr Jollof’s response has reignited discussions about entrepreneurship, self reliance, and the importance of creating opportunities from humble beginnings in today’s economic reality.
