Nigerian singer Peruzzi has stirred reactions online after admitting that he temporarily ignored his girlfriend of seven years shortly after meeting Afrobeats superstar Davido.
Speaking during a conversation with media personalities Falz, VJ Adams, and Tope Olowoniyan, Peruzzi explained that he became overwhelmed by the sudden lifestyle change that came with his association with Davido.
According to the singer, he stopped communicating with his girlfriend for days because he was busy enjoying experiences he had never imagined before.
“I didn’t text her or anything, I was with my guys enjoying life,” he said.
Peruzzi further revealed that meeting Davido instantly transformed his reality, as he suddenly found himself travelling across different countries within a short period.
“You just met Davido today, tomorrow you are on a flight to Dubai. The next day, you’re on a flight to Lebanon. I don’t understand, I’m calling who?” he said jokingly.
When asked why he did not at least share the exciting experience with his girlfriend, Peruzzi insisted he was too caught up in the moment and enjoying a lifestyle that was completely new to him.
His comments have since sparked mixed reactions online, with social media users debating loyalty, relationships and how fame can quickly change people’s priorities.
