The management of Lobi Stars F.C of Makurdi has announced plans to restructure the club ahead of the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season to enhance maximum performance.
Chairman of the club, Mr. Simon Terver Ikya, who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen yestetday, explained that the reforms will include strengthening the technical bench and recruiting quality players.
Ikya lamented that the club could not perform up to its expectation because of the avalanche of problems, including ban for tecruiting new players inherited by his management team.
He, howevet assured the club’s teeming supportets that, with the untiring support of the Governor Hyacint Alie-led government, the club will be repositioned to perform optimally.
“Upon assumption of office, the current management inherited enormous challenges, including a registration ban that threatened the club’s participation in the season. Through determined efforts and strategic engagements, management successfully secured the lifting of the ban, thereby enabling the team to participate in the league.
”However, due to the limited time available after resolving these issues, it became difficult to carry out the extensive restructuring and quality player recruitment required to build a highly competitive squad before the season commenced.
”The management of Lobi Stars F.C. wishes to assure fans, stakeholders, and the Government of Benue State that this period will be used to undertake comprehensive reforms aimed at rebuilding the club into a stronger and more competitive side ahead of next season.
”These reforms will include proper and strategic player recruitment and strengthening the club’s technical structure,” Ikya said.
The management also informed that plans are underway to establish a female team for the club to provide a veritable platform for young girls to thrive in the sport.
