Singer Mr Real has raised concerns over a recent WhatsApp update, criticising what he described as a threat to users’ privacy and comfort on the messaging platform.
In a statement shared online, the singer expressed frustration over claims that people whose numbers are not saved can now view users’ status updates. According to him, status privacy should remain fully under users’ control.
“Dear WhatsApp, this new update is honestly not nice at all. It’s totally unacceptable that people whose numbers I didn’t save can now view my status,” he wrote.
Mr Real further urged WhatsApp to reconsider the update, stressing that privacy remains important to many users. His comments have since sparked reactions online, with several social media users sharing similar concerns about privacy and personal security on the app.
