Nollywood actress Sotayo Gaga has publicly dragged Opay, Palmpay and Moniepoint after allegedly being scammed by an individual who reportedly used accounts linked to the fintech platforms.
According to the actress, many people wrongly assume Nollywood stars only come online to beg for help, whereas several actors quietly support people behind closed doors without publicizing it. After making that clarification, Sotayo revealed that someone allegedly used different names across the fintech apps to swindle her of money.
Clearly angered by the incident, the actress did not stop at merely complaining online. She went further to publicly rain curses on the alleged scammer via her Instagram page while also blasting the fintech companies, accusing them of negligence and describing their operations as “rubbish.”
Her outburst has since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians sharing their frustrations over rising cases of fraud linked to digital banking platforms.
