Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said Ademola Lookman still has a lot more to offer the club after his goal proved decisive in their qualification to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Barcelona.
Ademola Lookman netted the all-important tie breaker Tuesday night after Barcelona cancelled out the two goals they conceded in the home leg a week ago.
Simeone has been most impressed with the growth of his January signing.
“He’s growing, he is growing a lot defensively, which makes him even more important to the team,” he remarked.
“He’s courageous and has taken more responsibilities of the team.
“He’s brilliant offensively, very good on 1v1.
“We want more from him and he has more in his tank.”
Since his arrival from Atalanta in January, Ademola Lookman has scored six goals and made four assists in all competitions.
Atleti are now through to the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League and on Saturday they will battle Real Sociedad for the Copa del Rey trophy.
