I Was Offered Monetary Inducement to Impeach Gov. Makinde But Declined – Oyo Assembly Speaker

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebowale Ogundoyin has admitted that he was offered monetary inducement to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde of the state, although he declined the offer.
Oguntoyinbo who represents Ibarapa East State constituency revealed this while responding to various allegations concerning the move to impeach the Governor.
The statement was made available to newsmen on Tuesday.
There are reports that the Speaker met the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja and a former first lady in the state, Mrs Florence Ajimobi in an attempt to impeach the Governor.
But, Ogundoyin while reacting, admitted that he was offered a monetary inducement to impeach the Governor but he rejected the offer, claiming he met the first lady and Olubadan but rejected the offer.
He said that the meeting was to seek the royal blessing in respect of his gubernatorial ambition.
Ogundoyin in the statement made available to newsmen, said “I was offered monetary inducement, but I declined without hesitation because no amount of money can buy my conscience or compromise my loyalty to the Governor, the party, and the people we were elected to serve.
“I remain fully committed to upholding the integrity of this House and will not be part of any agenda aimed at destabilising the government.”
