Wife of the IGP, Mrs Mutiat Disu, says she will leverage the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to assist and empower members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) across the country.
‎Disu said this during an interview at the State House on Tuesday, after an official visit to the wife of the President, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu.
She pledged to work alongside the President’s wife on her initiatives, ensuring that members of POWA also gain access to the federal government’s social intervention and empowerment programmes.

‎”The purpose of my visit to our mother, the wife of the President today, is to seek her blessings as I steer the ship of POWA, as well as to tap from her wealth of experience, and to know her programmes for the masses to see how we can benefit from them.

‎”And I can tell you that within the short period that I spent with her, I learnt so much, and I am sure by the time I start working with her, my people will benefit from the RHI programmes.

‎”We will be looking at the RHI social intervention and healthcare programmes for police families too.

‎”I am ready to work with Mama on the RHI as it affects our women, since the initiative is basically for women, and POWA is dominated by women. We are ready to implement all that is given to us to do and we will do it,” Disu said.

‎Olatunji Disu was appointed as the 23rd Inspector General of Police (IGP) by President Bola Tinubu in February, succeeding Kayode Egbetokun.

‎However, his wife assumed office in March, succeeding Dr Elizabeth Egbetokun.
