Popular socialite and outspoken “City Boy” supporter Pascal Okechukwu, widely known as Cubana Chief Priest, has finally reacted to the killings in Jos, but not without raising eyebrows.
His response came roughly 48 hours after news of the tragic incident broke, a delay that has not gone unnoticed by many online observers.
Rather than posting on his main page, the celebrity barman shared his thoughts in a more reserved manner, expressing sympathy for the lives lost while also criticising security agencies. He described the situation as an embarrassment, particularly as it coincided with the birthday of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his message, he offered prayers for better leadership, hoping that the President would be guided in selecting individuals capable of addressing the country’s ongoing security challenges, regardless of what the outcome of the 2027 elections may be.
Still, the timing and tone of his response have left the public divided.
For some, it is a long overdue show of empathy. For others, it feels like yet another carefully timed statement in a politically charged space.
In moments like this, intention is everything, and perception even more.
