Since the controversy surrounding the case of Lanre Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijeha, actor Yomi Fabiyi has remained a divisive figure within the industry. His public stance in defence of Baba Ijesha placed him at odds with several colleagues, particularly female actors.
From reported tensions with Iyabo Ojo and Damilola Adekoya (a.k.a Princess Comedian), it now seems another major name may have joined the list. During a recent Instagram Live session, Yomi Fabiyi spoke about what he described as “cabal like control” within Nollywood. In the process, he made a rather surprising claim, stating that actress Funke Akindele had stopped speaking to him after hearing that he had built his own house.
An unexpected claim, and one that did not go unanswered. Funke Akindele responded via her Instagram story with a short but pointed message: “I laugh in Spanish. You reap what you sow.”
In an industry where alliances shift as quickly as headlines, it seems this particular rift is far from over.
