A socio-political pressure group, the Okpe Majority Group, has thrown its weight behind All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, urging him to enter the race for the Delta Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a strongly worded letter signed by its Coordinator, Nikori Florence, the group called on Emerhor to “come out of the shadows and into the arena,” describing the appeal as a united grassroots demand anchored on sacrifice, party loyalty and years of unacknowledged commitment to the APC.
The group portrayed Emerhor as a central figure in the formation and survival of the APC in Delta State, arguing that his role since 2013 has not received due recognition. It said he invested enormous personal resources and energy in building the party, yet remains without political reward.
According to the letter, the call is not routine politicking but a “revolution of conscience,” with the group pledging total political mobilisation should Emerhor accept the challenge. It declared its readiness to deliver grassroots support, insisting that Delta Central requires a leader shaped by struggle rather than rhetoric.
The group further invoked faith and lived experience as defining attributes of the former APC governorship candidate, insisting that his resilience uniquely qualifies him to represent the senatorial district.
Declaring that the political moment has arrived, the Okpe Majority Group said it is prepared to mobilise fully for the 2027 polls, stressing that the people are ready and firmly behind Emerhor as the next senator for Delta Central.
