Coach Eric Chelle has expressed disappointment that captain Wilfred Ndidi is suspended for tomorrow’s 2025 AFCON semifinal against host nation Morocco in Rabat.
“I’m disappointed for Ndidi (that he will miss the semifinal). He brings a lot to the team. But we shall see what others will bring to us (vs Morocco),” the Super Eagles coach said.
It is most likely Brentford star Frank Onyeka will now be deployed as the main defensive pivot with Raphael Onyedika from Belgian team Club Brugge playing ahead of him in a midfield that also has Alex Iwobi.
Onyedika proved his attacking powers when he scored a brace in a 3-1 victory over Uganda in the group stage of the tournament.
