Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has commended the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, for his dedication and leadership, as he handed over 30 operational patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police to strengthen security operations across the state.
The governor said the presentation of the vehicles was part of his administration’s sustained commitment to enhancing law enforcement capacity and deepening community safety in Anambra State.
Soludo noted that the state had witnessed noticeable improvements in peace and public order since the launch of Operation Udo Ga Achi, attributing the progress to the vigilance, professionalism and sacrifice of security agencies, particularly the police.
According to him, the additional patrol vehicles would significantly improve police mobility and response time, enabling officers to more effectively combat crime and maintain law and order in both urban and rural communities.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s determination to continue providing the necessary logistical support to security agencies, stressing that ensuring the safety of lives and property remains a top priority of his government.
Soludo specifically praised the Anambra State Police Command under CP Orutugu for its commitment to duty and collaboration with other security agencies, expressing confidence that the partnership would further consolidate peace and stability in the state.
He said the state government would continue to work closely with the police and other stakeholders to build a safer and more prosperous Anambra for residents and investors alike.
