Nigeria’s U-15 boys kept their hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the CAF Schools Football Championship alive after securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Benin Republic yesterday in their second group match.
It was Nigeria’s first win in two matches after the boys suffered a disappointing 1-4 loss to Côte d’Ivoire in their opening game on Monday.
Despite the victory, qualification for the semifinals is not yet guaranteed, and the team must now wait for the outcome of the group’s final match between Côte d’Ivoire and Benin Republic.
The Nigerian team currently have three points with a goal difference of –3 from two matches.
