When Zazu first burst onto our playlists, the street declared it the best thing after the legendary “Some Have Food” anthem, and who could blame them? The moment Olamide Baddo’s iconic intro sliced through the speakers, you just knew something chaotic, cultural, and completely unforgettable had landed.
Portable, the man of the moment back then, rode that fame like a brand-new okada with fresh engine oil. Some say it’s ‘The Olamide Effect’ because truly, the speed and trajectory of the man’s rise could only be explained by such an industry force.
Fast-forward a few years and in Portable years, that’s about 300 controversies later, we’ve witnessed everything from online rants to surprise singles to his signature brand of public sagas that have become their own genre of entertainment. However, just when we thought nothing else could shock us, he casually drops a bomb on TikTok Live on Monday, the 25th of 2025.
“Zazu made Olamide blow international,” he proclaimed. Yes. You read that correctly. According to Portable, he is the reason Olamide now has international shine. Not decades of hits. Not street credibility. Not a catalogue that built an empire. No, Portable says he did it, with that hit song.
Apparently, this sudden enlightenment came after videos surfaced of Olamide’s concert where he shared the stage with Bella Shmurda, Lil Kesh, and other talents, perhaps, strategically leaving Portable out of the roll call.
Now, because it wouldn’t be a Portable episode without receipts, he added that Baddo didn’t even record Zazu with him. He simply pre-recorded his verse so they wouldn’t appear together. The villainy!
Whether this is truth, twist, or talent for reimagining history, one thing is clear: Portable will always give us a storyline, and honestly, what would the entertainment scene be without his unpredictable, high-energy plot twists?
